The Ovens and the Buffalo are two of the best Murray Cod rivers in the high country, and we've spent our lives learning every snag, every deep hole, and every stretch of structure worth working.
Affectionately known as "Goodoo," Murray Cod are explosive ambush predators and the apex predator of our rivers. They don't come easy but that's the point. When a metre-long cod smashes a lure off the timber, you'll understand why we chase them.
Whether it's your first cod or your fiftieth, you'll be guided by someone who fishes this country every week and knows exactly where they're holding today.

Yes. Anyone fishing in Victorian waters needs a current Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence, unless you're exempt (under 18, over 70, or hold a concession). You can grab one online in a few minutes before your trip. We'll point you in the right direction if you're not sure.

Not at all. Whether it's your first time holding a rod or you've been fishing your whole life, we tailor the day to you. First-timers are welcome we'll show you everything.

We fish in most conditions, but if it's genuinely unsafe or the rivers are blown out, we'll reschedule you for another day at no extra cost. Your safety and a good day on the water come first.

Murray Cod are catch-and-release to protect the fishery, in line with Victorian regulations.
